Meeting Topics for March 19, 2008

On March 19, 2008, 7:30pm at the Independence Civic Center the Independence Homeowners Association will present Dollar Bank Branch Manager Kelly Jules, and Vice President Residential Lending, Cathy Gedeon, who will speak about sub-prime lending and home loan foreclosures. Immediately following will be speakers Elaine Apanaites and Joanne O'Brien from the Cuyahoga County Auditor's office to speak about property appraisals and how the recent foreclosure crisis may affect property value in the future. Both sets of speakers offer important information which will have an impact on your budget.

Dollar Bank representatives will explain sub-prime lending and how it relates to foreclosures using facts and figures, as well as forecasting the current crisis and how it will affect property values in Independence and the surrounding communities.

According to the Auditor's office, there is still time to file an appeal of the most recent property reevaluations. Ms. Apanaites will have the appeal form available the night of the meeting. The form must be submitted by March 31, 2008. The form is also available online at County Auditor's Appeal Form.

The Independence Homeowners meeting is open to anyone interested in hearing more about these timely topics. Speakers will answer questions following each presentation.
